What are the best cities or areas to live in Houston, Texas or Just outside Houston?
Question by killerlegs: What are the best cities or areas to live in Houston, Texas or Just outside Houston?
Seriously considering relocating to Texas. Answers from those who knows Texas really well would be appreciated.
Would like being close to an area which would provide great job opportunities (like Houston), but don’t want to live directly in the business area.
Would like to buy a home at a reasonable price $ 100s – $ 300s, but in a very nice, quiet and friendly area as we are very friendly and outgoing and where the crime rate is not high and don’t have to be scared to be outside at any time of the day or worry about my son being outside alone. Yet, not too far away from the business areas so my husband won’t have a long commute to work. Also, close to High Schools, restaurants, parks, entertainment and such. I do notice everything seems to always be far away from where one lives. Please also list other areas such as Austin, etc. that would be very nice areas for us to consider as we really don’t know much about Texas.
Thank you all so much for you help and have a great day.

Sugar Land was voted one of the top cities in America for housing (as in more bang ofr your buck). Pearland is blowing up right now and is looking nicer everytime i get out there. As for the commute, as long as you live close to the major highways you will have about a 20-45 minute commute depending on what time you leave. i’m in Missouri City (Sienna) and the Fort Bend tollroad gets me anywhere in town. I pretty much only know about the south side of Houston, but i do know the if yuo’re coming from like the Cy/Kingwood/Spring area that the commute is almost double (according to the traffic reports). if you have any further questions, you can feel free to email me. good luck

does anybody know of a part time job here in Houston, Texas area where I could bring my kids to work? ?
Question by Bonnie: does anybody know of a part time job here in Houston, Texas area where I could bring my kids to work? ?
Hi.
I already work FT from Monday thru Friday 8-5 but need the extra income. I would like to work part time in the evenings M-F and/or the weekends and I will like to bring my kids with me to work. Or perhaps there is a job that I can do from home that is not a scam? (please).
I tried to look online, but I am giving up. I can’t find anything. Anybody knows of any place where I can apply? I am also considering the option of babysitting, but one child is not enough unless is a baby because you usually charge more for a baby. Help, anyone outthere???
Thanks!!!!
Ok – working from home options are very scary in the sense that most are scams. I’ve heard of secret shopper like the last lady on my question suggested. Can anyone tell me more about secret shopper? What personal experience you’ve had as far professionally and financially (wages). Also mention of any negative experiences you’ve had. Is this a real deal or is it scam? Someone also mentioned about freelance writing on blogs. I like that idea, but to be honest, I am not a writer and I don’t think I come close to one. What are the requirements to be a freelance writer and what is the pay? Someone please tell me from their own personal experiences. Thank you.

NO, Medicare comes from Social Security check you’ll receive when you Retire.
When you are OLD enough to Collect SS…you’re only 19, you have a loooooong way to go…….the Cost for ‘Medicare’ will be deducted from your SS Payment. There is no such animal as Medicare tax………..YET!!
Are you AWARE that when April 15th comes around and Fed Taxes are DUE……you will OWE ALL that money you choose NOT to be Deducted?
You may want to re-think that move or speak to a Tax Accountant!
Most will tell you over the phone. If you work a small amount of time during the Year, you may not owe Taxes anyway….but, check to be SURE.
You don’t want to start off on the wrong foot with the IRS, they will watch you tax returns like a hawk forever!

what first steps should be taken to move from houston texas to san antonio?
Question by toomuch4u77: what first steps should be taken to move from houston texas to san antonio?
I am considering moving from houston to san antonio. I’m not sure on how or where to begin this process. I work for a company that has a location in san antonio but I am not sure that they will have an opening at that location for me. I am married with 6 kids and we are all wanting a change. I’m not sure if looking for a home first is the way we should go. Should I look for another job first and then a place to live? I guess I just need some direction on how to begin this process. If anyone could offer some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Do you own your home or rent? I try to find a job first. Tell them you need to give your old job two weeks notice. This will give you the time to find a place to rent in San Antonio. Move your stuff during this two weeks and keep a sleeping bag at your place in Houston until your time there is up. By that time your family should be all set up in SA and you will have everything set up when you start your new job (less stress, so you will give a better impression on your new co-workers). If you are planing to buy a place in SA, only sign a 6 month lease. During that six months, you can shop around and find the perfect home to buy and also do any repairs to the home that you want done before you move in. Good luck!!
